This recipe can be done in a jiffy and the taste is simply out of the world. Yes, believe me !. Soft paneer cubes, spices and cream create a fantastic taste. I am drooling over here when thinking of it. Now a days, the first choice I would think of with paneer is this recipe. I personally prefer to use home made paneer, which is very soft and fresh when compared to the store bough ones. If you have stored paneer in fridge, remove it and immerse in warm water till it is being used. It makes them soft.

This recipe is adapted from 'veg recipes of india'. This dish goes very well with chapathi or as a side dish with Jeera rice, pulao etc. If you love paneer then this dish is worth giving it a try. I have used amul fresh cream here, once tried it with malai collected from milk too, both works out well. This is mild spice suitable for kids too. Spice it up if required.

INGREDIENTS

250gms paneer cubed (homemade preferably)
1 cup chopped big onions
1 tsp ginger garlic paste (I used minced garlic and ginger)
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/8 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp crushed kasthuri methi
1/4 cup low fat cream (I used amul fresh cream)
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan and saute onions till translucent. Now add ginger garlic paste and stir until the raw smell disappears.

3. Saute the masala  for few seconds without burning them. Add cubed paneer and mix them carefully.

4. When the masala coats the paneer, add fresh cream, salt and stir carefully. In 2-3 minutes the fat starts oozing out on the sides.

Goes well with chapathi, Phulka or Jeera rice, Pulao etc.

Notes:

  • Instead of using amul fresh cream you shall also use malai, which is collected from milk.

  • It is best to use home made paneer.

  • Use more of onions and cream to get more volume.

  • Use kashmiri red chilly to get bright colour.
